Application Information
The application deadline is March 1 for fall admission. There are no Spring admissions into the MSPA program.
NB: Due to a system upgrade, the on-line application system will be unavailable from November 23 through December 2. We invite you to apply before or after those dates or to download an application if you wish to apply during the down time.
Application Requirements
Applicants for the Master's Degree in Public Affairs need to submit the following items:
- Application form (available online at www.umb.edu)
- $40.00 check (in-state applicants) $60.00 (out-of-state applicants)
- Current resume
- Three letters of recommendation (either personal, professional, and/or educational)
- Certified transcripts from all colleges attended
- Personal statement (300 words) on your reasons for wanting to attend graduate school
- Statement of Interest (1,200 words) on your specific interests and what kind of work you would like to do in your intended field
- GRE or MAT scores
- TOEFL test score for international applicants
Where to Submit Application Materials
All applications and supporting materials should be post-marked by March 1 and submitted to the Office of Graduate Admissions.
If you wish to hand deliver your admissions applications, Graduate Admissions is located on the third floor of the Campus Center.
Whenever possible, a complete package should be submitted in its entirety.
