Graduate Certificate Program
Admissions and Tuition

The Women in Politics and Public Policy graduate certificate program is full time over two semesters. Students are admitted in September for the full program. The program welcomes applicants of diverse backgrounds with a wide variety of undergraduate majors.

The program is part of the department of Public Policy and Public Affairs at the John W. McCormack Graduate School of Policy Studies and is administered by UMass Boston’s Division of Corporate, Distance, and Continuing Education.

Graduate Certificate Program Tuition and Fees

Cost Academic Year 2009-10

$9,000 plus a $345 Graduate Student Fee. Total Program Cost: $9,345. Note: Cost is subject to increase each academic year.

Tuition is due in the first semester, payment plans, scholarships and financial aid are available.

Graduate Certificate Admissions Requirements

Applicants for the graduate certificate program must:

  1. Have earned a bachelor's degree or its equivalent (degree does not have to be related to political science or public policy);
  2. Submit official transcripts from every institution previously attended;
  3. Arrange for a personal interview with program staff;
  4. Submit a completed graduate application with fee: $40/$60 out of state and two letters of recommendation and statement of Interests/Intent to:
