The Betty Taymor Scholarship Fund

A Scholarship Fund in Support of the Program for Women in Politics & Public Policy, part of the Center for Women in Politics and Public Policy

The Betty Taymor Fund provides financial support in the form of stipends and scholarships for women enrolled in the Center's graduate Program for Women in Politics & Public Policy. The Program provides both academic training and professional experience for women from diverse backgrounds who aspire to careers in public service.

Named for Betty Taymor, the founder of the Program, the Fund provides stipends and scholarships each academic year to women in the Program who have demonstrated academic excellence, a commitment to public service, and financial need.

The goal of the Fund is to increase access to the Program for qualified women, regardless of ability to pay..

Over 50% of the women who enter the Program work full-time to support themselves and their families. For some, completing the 200-hour internship component of the Program means losing income. Becoming a "Betty Taymor Scholar," often makes the difference in being able to attend and complete the Program. The amount of each stipend/scholarship ranges from $250 to $1,250.

Help Provide Stipends and Scholarships for Women

The Fund seeks support from private donors, corporate sponsors, and foundations to increase the number and value of scholarships it can provide. The Betty Taymor Fund is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization. All contributions are tax deductible.
