The Journal of Aging & Social Policy addresses the full range of policy issues that are associated with human aging. Its purview includes all major institutional sectors and issues faced by both governmental entities and private organizations in the United States and around the world. The Journal is interested in the policy process from beginning to end and the full range of strategies used to advance policy. Of particular interest are the issues associated with the unprecedented growth of the older population throughout the world.
Manuscripts must have strong policy content. The Journal welcomes manuscripts that report on original research. In research articles, the policy context must be established at the outset, and the policy implications of the research findings must be clearly stated and thoroughly developed. Articles whose focus is the identification and analysis of policy options are also encouraged. These articles must be supported by sound research evidence. Manuscripts that introduce promising proposals to strengthen policy are of particular interest.
The Journal welcomes not only full-length scholarly manuscripts but also shorter commentaries in which authors offer their opinions on policy issues. The Journal also invites letters from readers.
